Lines for Francis
Dominus regit me, nihil mihi deerit
- Psalm 23
I shall not want.
Though I be threadbare and
Penniless, or suffer
The slings and arrows of
Enemies merciless;
Or whether shackled in
Chains of despair, and cast
In dungeons of distress,
Disparaged, to the world
A shame; and among the
Birds my name to them a
Curse in their winged flight
Or in their feathered nests,
And though I weary of
Many trials and many tests,
I shall not want.
